Transfolk-- How long did it take your family to switch names and pronouns?

My parents never switched names and were constantly slipping up on pronouns to their dying day (although my Father was better than my Mother at trying to use the proper pronouns)-- and this was over 10 years after beginning transitioning (8+ years post-op).

The rest of my family seems to be more accepting, and for the most part use the proper name and pronoun, however with the exception of my Brother, I am not very close to any of the other relatives.

And I have to second what Clones said regarding acceptance versus name/pronoun usage.

I wish you the best of luck. 6 years may seem like a lot of time to adjust, but some people may never make the adjustment and you must be prepared for that.
