Well if you turn your page into a fan page, dedicated to a popular celebrity with updates about them news and gossips, that is one way.

Example:
http://twitter.com/#!/justinbieberfan (this person has almost 600,000 followers)

Talk about things that people are interested in hearing about and that will give them a reason to follow you.
