Follow people with the same interests as you. For example, if you're a fan of.. idk, Lady Gaga, follow one of her fans and then go through that fans followers to find more fans. Talk to them and stuff and eventually you'll have quite a bit of followers.

Some people follow back so you'll get more that way too.
