Not a lost cause at all. Also, try google and put the name in quotation marks, then follow that with the state/town that might be in the obit. You might find one of them mentioned on some article. Works best if you use the least common name.
"everyone has facebook".
Scary comment. I know people who don't have a COMPUTER, much less facebook.
