Congratulations on choosing such an exciting career path in makeup artistry. Make sure you look into the reciprocity/transferring requirements from FL to CA!

It is important to market yourself - consider posting your portfolio online, pushing yourself out to social networks like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, consider doing a big promotion of "specials" to build your portfolio and get your name out - like "FREE makeup session" blah blah blah. What about calling yourself a "Celebrity Stylist" when you market yourself - self-fulfilling prophecy. Build that reputation early. Of course, it couldn't hurt to get your start in stage/theater makeup and independent films to work your way up to major cinema.

Check out the blog below, "Shortcuts to Becoming a Stylist to the Stars." It's about this great book by Diana Schmidtke and it offers some insight to her experience and tips on how to become a celebrity stylist.

I hope all these pointers help!
