Why can't i view most websites through a proxy server?

Go to one of the websites, even if you get the message. While holding down the CTRL KEY, hit the refresh button. If this fixes the problem then it is you browser cache. You can clear this using the Tools or Options page.

If this fails and you have access to the proxy server you may need to clear the cache on it as well. The problem with proxies is that they cache data even if it is no good. the CTRL Refresh tells the browser to ignore cached content.

Just informational, proxies do not keep your data from prying eyes since there is a cached copy on your PC
