What a pickle! I don't think he sounds quite cryptic and vague. Not always a good mixture. I would just wash my hands of him and ignore the wierd tweet he put up. You're probably better off without him. His comment could have referred to two things - he was stupid by letting you stay the night - whether that's because he doesn't have feelings for you and doesn't want you to think it meant something or he does have feelings for you and think tout don't have feelings for him.
