The iPhone is little easier to use than Android phones, it's more trendy if you're a fashionista, and it also works as an iPod (which is important if you have an iPod already and use it a lot).

On the other hand the Droid 3 has a real keyboard, which may count for a lot if you text a lot.

The Droid 3 may be a bit faster, but the iPhone isn't slow.

I guess the iPhone also has more apps, but at this point they both have thousands and thousands, and all the popular apps are already available on both.
