How do I get my priorities right?

I think your problem is motivation, you gotta set up your goals in life and that will make you work hard in order to achieve them. Once you identify your goals then you gotta understand which are the steps towards them and its very likely that it will have something to do with studying and being productive. If you dont see any conection btw studying for that exam and achieving your goals is obvious that you wont bother to pick the books.

I dont think the internet is a problem by itself, its the biggest and most convenient source of knowledge that we have and allows you to understand pretty much everything. Problem is when people spend their whole day reading rubbish and chatting with the same people instead of searching for useful stuff. I think im adicted to the internet in a positive way, it helps me a lot with my work.

PS: I always surf the web while pooping as you do, nothing wrong about it...in fact Im doing it right now
