How can i get over my ex that i dated for a year?

I feel for you. I dated my ex for almost two years, broke up in February of this year, so it's been 9 months now and I'd say I'm just now FINALLY getting over him. Unfortunately, it takes everybody a different amount of time. I've heard different rules like, expect it to take half as long as you were dating the person, etc. That might be a good guideline, but really everyone has to do it in their own time. Things I did to help get over him were to remember the bad things, ask myself if I would have been happy if things stayed the same way they were (the answer is no), focus on myself - pick up new hobbies, work out, play with my makeup, go out with friends, set new goals, try going on dates with other people, etc. Good luck!
