How can i get over my ex that i dated for a year?

Dear stranger, I know what you are going through. Me and my girlfriend broke up a year ago after dating for 2 years. I was so lost and heart broken. But here are things you'd have to do to get over him: 1st lose all the connections with him (texting, Facebook, calling, hanging out, everything). That's extremely crucial. You have to stay strong and not get in contact with him whatsoever! 2nd go do something that will keep you busy! Hang out with friends, go find a new hobby, spend time with your family, watch funny movies! (And at your current situation I would suggest the movie 500 days of summer: great movie for broken hearted people) do anything and everything that would get your mind off of him. Stop creeping on him on Facebook. 3rd when you're missing him, think about all the bs he put you through, all the bad things he's done! Never think of the good things. Ever. It's not healthy for you. 4th (optional) go find someone new. Someone better! Don't just go and hook up with someone, find a good friend! Or best friend to just have fun and hang out with! But honestly the best answer to your question is TIME. Only time can heal your broken heart. It takes time to not feel anything for him. It'll take months till you get over him if you really liked him. Maybe even a year. But if you do the 4th step I'm pretty sure you can get over him in no time! And don't worry you WILL find others.
