Well, an SEO to any website requires strategic planning and patience. If SEO for blog is thought about, one should start with off-page optimization to build backlinks to see some organic traffic to your blog. Again, there are various type of off-page techniques. For blog, I believe forum commenting, article submission, commenting on other blogs, guest posting, Rss submissions, and social bookmarking will help a lot to get good traffic. Before all these off-page techniques, see that you have a quality content on your blog so that search engines find your blog important. Hope that helps!
