How do you make it so your yahoo answers thing is private when someone clicks on your name?

I think so.

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Desktop" button
2. Click your avatar or the "My activity" tab to open up your YA profile (not your Yahoo profile)
3. Click the "Edit my preferences" hyperlink
4. Click the "Privacy & communication" tab when it is underlined to open the tab page
5. Change the "Everyone" boxes to "contacts and friends only" or "Contacts only"

You may want enable email to and from other YA community members by

6. clicking the centers of the buttons to the left of "Via email" and or "Via Yahoo messenger" until they turn green/gray.
7.. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the tab page.

All making your activity private does is make it so people cannot "stroll" through your questions and answers to report them. Your questions and answers REMAIN visible on the main display even when your activity is private.

IF you want to use Yahoo Messenger, that has to be activated separately. Go to the Yahoo help pages. I haven't book marked those Help pages yet.

Trolls who are determined to report your questions and answers will just have hunt harder by going through the back pages of YA. All making your activity private does is scream your paranoia of the trolls to the entire YA community. That's why MY activity IS OPEN.

When I am online, I am afraid of NO ONENE, trools (Oops! LOL!) or Yahoo employees or Yahoo Answers teams or Yahoo Customer Care.. After more than 8 years and counting of VICIOUS online personal AND PROFESSIONAL defamation and libel attempts, , NO ONE CAN ABUSE ME ONLINE ANY MORE and NOT pay for it in some way later. It does not matter whether you lose reporting credibility or Yahoo suspends or terminates your Yahoo email account, you WILL pay in some way if and when you abuse ME online. I'm very vigilant about protecting my copyright on online forums too.
