IPhone 5 or a nice camera for Xmas?

iPhone 5 or even 4S is more than fine for hobby photography. The camera is unbelievably fantastic... especially in daylight. Puts my mum's Nikon compact shooter thingy with 10MP or so to shame.

It has inbuilt touch to focus and HDR and probably way more easier and faster than a standalone camera.

Then there's the tons of apps that let your edit your photos.

Only drawback I have is that it doesn't have a self timer function (yet) but there's a free app for that but it has annoying adverts. Or you can get a bluetooth remote from ebay for like under $30 to snap photos remotely if you need to.
