The trick with good school fundraisers is to keep things simple but fun.
Don't get bogged down in something heavy. Be nimble. A few interesting fun events or activities even if they only bring in smaller amounts of cash on their own can soon add up and begin to build a constituency of interest and expectation for coming years. In this way you are not just thinking of the immediate fundraiser but building understanding and garnering support for the future also. As to the fundraisers themselves - the best school fundraising ideas are fun and nearly always involve the children themselves. I help run the fundraising ideas website listed below. Many of the queries to the site are people looking for brand new ideas. That's fine but there is also a lot of potential for taking well known ideas and simply giving them a new twist or even just doing them really well. There is nothing worse than a fundraiser embarked upon with a sense of resignation rather than optimism and fun. As with so much in life - Get the attitude right and the rest will follow |
