You really need to talk to her about this in person. Texting is so impersonal.

I find that near the holidays, people become more lonely and want someone in their life but when the holidays are over, it doesn't work out because the reason they latch onto someone is because of the loneliness.

My suggestion is to just get to know her again and slowly become her friend. Do not rush into something right now. Talk to her. Let her know how you truly feel, your hopes, fears, etc.
