Sounds like you took control of the conversation away from him. You should text him and see how he's doing if he texts back and continues a convo then he's good if not then you move on. I would watch to see if he comes in and pulls the knight and shining armor routine. If he starts doing everything perfectly I would back off because too good to be true turns into too horrible to be real.
