Why don't liberals realize socialism results in more and more social regulation?

Fast food is already being banned or limited in schools due to the high obesity rate in kids and I have no problem with helping a kid not develop diabetes or have a heart attack at 30. More than half of adults are now considered obese. They might want to consider keeping their asses out of McDonald's anyway. Drugs have been banned for years by the FDA. If they don't want to approve a drug, it doesn't go on the market. They also take drugs off the market if they're unsafe or causing deaths. Lastly, the U.S. isn't headed towards socialism. It's scare tactics for the uninformed.
