All the applications in the appstore are for iPhone and iPod touch, but you have to be on firmware 2.0 or higher.
You can also Jailbreak your ipod touch and get tons of free applications. check this website: http://www.newiphoneunlock.com
their package will allow you to update your ipod touch to the latest firmware 2.1 and jailbreak it.
