Even if you never use your email address to register in websites, etc., if any of your friends or family has your email address on their address books, there is a an extremely high possibility that any of them can get your email address compromised. A lot of people are not particularly careful by keeping their antivirus/adware/firewalls up to speed. Additionally, even if they do, there is always a chance that a hacker may obtain the information by other means. No email account is 100% hack proof, no matter how good you may be in keeping up with your personal online security.
