Be sure to keep it "guy" friendly, so no frilly stuff. I would keep the color scheme in line with that too, using blues, greens, and neutrals. If you use any patterned papers, try plaids, chevrons, houndstooth, and/or anything with a bold, graphic print. Be sure to include any saved memorabilia such as movie and concert ticket stubs, etc. in addition to photos. To personalize it, you can do that through the journaling by relating the things that make him special to you and/or how he made a certain day, event or occassion more special by something he said or did.
