It sounds like he's just being annoying...If you don't want to go and it sounds like he doesn't either let it go. Don't say anything. If he mentions it you can always say sorry I've been really busy...Who cares; no one says you have to...With the information you have provided that clearly states you both don't want to go, it'll probably boring anyway, so it'd be a waste of time.
