This was a question you should have asked before you blew the $299 on the iPod - "is it useless to get the new iPod Touch?" And the answer would have been - do you have a smartphone or any plans to get one in the near future? If so, then getting any iPod makes very little sense since a smartphone can basically do what an iPod Touch can do without being tied to iTunes and at least a number of the phones can use microSD cards which none of Apple's products support and they can only connect to the internet using wifi. IPods on the other hand can't do everything that smartphones can do - their advantage is that you don't get tied to a data plan (which you've nullified once you've decided that you WILL get a smartphone.)
Now you're stuck with an iPod you don't need. You may be able to get something by selling it, but not what you paid. strictly speaking, unless you can point to a unique use for each device that's worth spending the purchase price to get it, then yes, it is a waste. |
