yes, girls care A LOT if you're angry or not angry at them.
i would try asking her out. usually when her friends tell you to ask her out, that means she most likely is attracted to you.

i'm guessing she says "i like another guy" so it won't be as awkward.
and: the thing about looking at each other in classes, that's a great sign that she likes you. try this: in class, look up at the clock. quickly look to her. if she's looking at the clock, that means that she was looking at you and followed your gaze towards it.

as for avoiding eye contact: she's most likely extremely nervous too. she's probably thinking "gosh, does he like me? is he gonna ask me out?" etc.

start being friends with her. sit with her at lunch. text her. call her. be friendly. then, if she really does like you, then you can ask her out.
