I lie constantly for attention. What's wrong with me and what can I do to stop?

I'm not certified in this field, but here's my go at it:

I also found myself lying to people very close to me and I still do. Something I do to reduce the amount of lies I tell is by counting them everyday. I keep a journal with the numbers and the lies that I remember. That helped me because now I avoid lying more.
