How do you get over your first love of 3 years?

I've loved him for 3 years, we broke up for many many reasons but I won't get into that. Basically, he didn't treat me like he should have, I got upset with him, he said he did want to stay with me but then a week later he dumped me right before my birthday through text. I love him with every little piece of me but I don't want to be with him at the same time.

Please help, I can't get over it. Theres days where I need him, where I wanna cuddle him and fall asleep on his chest like I used to, where I just wanna call him and hear his voice but then theres times where I just wanna be over it so I can find someone better.

I hate this.
Thank you so much to everyone who answered, it means alot to me and made me feel a little better I don't think we will be getting back together, but we're kinda just friends at the moment, we just dont really talk at all haha.
