Should I Just Delete My Twitter Account?

I've got it for 3 years and it actually got me addicted. It makes me know about what happenes in the world, I get any news so earlier than the people who don't use it. But there is a problem: it is a waste of time also. Every spare time I go on it and spend my hours. I think there are many things to do in life. I used to use it for talking to my friends but now I don't count them as my friends anymore so it's pointless to still have but having because of following the news. What should I do in your opinion?
