Does anyone else think that EA has been going to far with some of their video game promotions lately?

Well, this question is almost word for word from the latest Yahoo article.
If the public at large believes they're unpopular in their marketing techniques, they will cease to be popular. But considering their games are still selling, the majority probably don't think so. Had I not read the Yahoo article, I would not have known anything about it, it wasn't a mass mailing to the world. I could care less how they market their stuff inhouse and to journalists. The press wants dirt, not ho hum marketing. They want to be wowed. I think this latest marketing scheme may have put the models at risk. Some people don't read fine print, and some people are creeps. It could have totally been twisted. However, the two games in question are rated M for mature if I'm not mistaken. It stands to reason that their marketing would follow suit. |
