Girlfriend leaving tomorrow for Navy Basic Training?

My girlfriend was sworn into the Navy in June 2012. I've been dreading this day but it's finally time for her to ship out to basic training. After about 2 months she'll be home briefly then right back off to A-school for 3 months to be a hospital coresman. Thankfully when she's finished all this training she won't be stationed far from where we live, maybe about a 30 minute drive away. But until June we will pretty much be in a temporary long distance relationship. Over the next 2 months we won't even be able to communicate via facebook, twitter, e-mail, texting... nothing electronic because of the strict military policies of training. So we will have to do the old fashioned hand written letters for a while. It'll be tough.

I was just wondering if anyone has been in a long distance relationship and can help. My girlfriend started crying yesterday because she was scared I would lose interest in her because it would be so much more difficult to communicate. I assured her I love her and it won't be that bad. Just looking for tips. Thanks!
