What i think is over procesed hair?

After I got this relaxer like product in my hair But basically afterwards,since i decided myself to leave it in for like 30 minutes(is is like a hair softener but i used it like a relaxer) so it can be straighter.After wards i found that the hair closest to my head was hard and like stuck together and what i thought at first was stuck to my head(kinda still do) but i started to comb through it...i seemed to get it apart?..i think? and i thought after excessively conditioning it it went away but when i wake up the next morning and feel my scalp i see that there still ther(assuming that i wasnt feeling to my scalp when i was doing it. My mom said that when i was doing it i didnt wash it thoroughly. idk what really is or wat it isnt really lol. but i wanna know what to do to make it go away..like for good?
