I am about to go to college, with an undecided major, and want to know if a Macbook or PC laptop would better?

Your characteristics basically are what Macs are made for.

However, since this is for college you need to make sure your laptop will meet all of the things you require for classes. Even if you are undecided, do you know what type of field you want to go into? Are you more of a History sort of person? Or a Marketing/Business person?

If you're going into anything Art or Design related, get a Mac. They are the leaders in those industries and knowing how to operate a Mac is vital to any job in those fields. If you're an engineering/computer science person, it could go either way, but chances are you'll want a PC. The chance of your Science department primarily using Macs is low.

If you choose to get a Mac, make sure you don't overpay for something you won't need. Although the Macbook Pro has some better features (backlit keyboard, etc.), if these things aren't very important to you, and you aren't a gamer, the higher-performance graphics card may not be necessary.
