Good Sir, I lived in the UK for 8 months by the way.

Your question I think should be geared toward the the difference in laws not government. You see it is the Law of the land that will affect you much more than Government management.

Well in my experience the aspects of British law that I did not find agreeable to me were the following:

Higher Taxation- Salaries are taxed much higher in the UK than in the US, so your take home pay is much lower. Even if you cross check the cost of living you will find the UK is much more expensive and you have less money to live on. http://www.numbeo.com

Fewer Rights- It is very famous that in the UK there is no Right to Bear arms. But many in the US don't understand the limit of it which is very extensive. No Right to firearms, no Right to rape prevension Mace, no right to certain edge/ blunt weapons. Basically you are forced to defend yourself from a mugger in a dark alley with an umbrella. Also, you don't have FREE SPEECH, they pracice what is called FREER SPEECH which is very different. In short if they deem your words as hate speech or racially insulting it may come with a Fine or Prison sentence or both. For example a british kid wrote on his facebook he hates all soldiers and in his opinion all soldiers should die, they arrrested him for that.

Limited shopping items- For some reason certain items could not be found in the UK and your options are limited. Mostly, bulk items such as we are used to in shopping in SAMs Club or COSTCO. The UK Rarely practices in bulk purchasing for the open market and it must be special ordered for some reason.
They do have a few forms of bulk markets but they are geared more to industries than they are to home shoppers.

Lack of Space- The closer you live to downtown London the smaller your Flat will be. I mean everything is so tiny and compact you get used to purchasing light almost all the time.
