I live in Korea and have a good Korean friend named "Eunbyeol" (ì€ë³„). If she went to your country and introduced herself to you by saying, "Hi. My name is 'Silverstar' ", how would you react?
You'd probably react the same way Koreans would if you introduced yourself as 백합. You don't need a Korean name because you are foreign. Besides, if you had a Korean name, Koreans would probably look at you as a poser. Use your own name. 릴리 ë©”ì´ ë§¥ëŸ¬í”Œë¦° (pronounced "lil-lee may meck-luh-pul-lin"). For what it's worth, Lee Ji-eun, a very popular singer here in Korea who calls herself "IU", uses "Lily" as her English name on her Twitter account. |
