Follow everyone that follows you.
Choose a subject that is interesting and will gain the interest of a group of people eg, a particular religion, quotes of a variety, sustainable living, a hobby of some sort. Do lots of # in your tweets so they will reach a large number of people. Tweet several times a day. Make sure to tag people when possible etc
