Well if your friends quality of videos is good then the only thing you can do is possibly spread the word, create a face book page or something, and just wait. Time will tell. And by quality I mean both the ACTUAL quality of the video and the quality of the CONTENT, both should be original and awesome.
Alternatively he could spam people's inboxes, but the only way that would work is when some 10yr old kid clicks on it.

The truth is, getting big on YouTube is a tough job; its all a matter of getting discovered. But don't let that dishearten you. BTW, what is that channel?
