How to get big on youtube?

Getting big on you tube has become a lot harder now. The only way to attract more views is by:
- Promoting you channel via social media sites like face book, twitter, tumblr
- Sub and comment on other similar videos
- Video responses
- Using good and relevant tags on BOTH videos and channel (a lot of people don't do this)
- If your friend is on a forum, use the URL of his you tube channel as a signature.
- Word of mouth, via friends, family
- Having good quality in both content and video
- Be consistent with his videos.This means posting them up on a regularly basis. What ever he does, just make sure he doesn't say like "I'll see you next week" and then NOT post anything up like 2 weeks after or even a month. This is a sure way of losing subscribers.

Making a video is one thing. Promoting is the real hard work. You're never granted to get hordes of views but with hard work and sticking to it, is the real key. If your friend is just interested in trying to make it big and gets discouraged gives up after say the first 5 videos made, simply put you tube isn't for him.
