OK, so there are a couple different things here.
There are two different versions of Windows: Windows RT and Windows 8. The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 and the Surface RT run Windows RT. They use processors similar to the ones in smartphones and other tablets. They can only run applications from the Windows Store (which, right now, is about 20,000 different apps). The Surface RT is a slate, like the iPad. It has a keyboard cover available for an extra $120 (touch keyboard) or $130 (keyboard with physical buttons), but that's optional. The Yoga looks like a more traditional laptop. It has a bigger battery, but is also a bigger and much heavier computer. The Surface is also cheaper. The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is a full Windows 8 computer. In addition to running the 20,000 apps in the Windows Store, it can also run all of the millions of existing Windows applications. It has worse battery life than the Surface and the Yoga 11, but is much faster. Ads |
