My friend is a douchebag?

So today I've come to an epiphany that my best friend is and has always been a douchebag.

First most he always gossips about other people. Usually he'll make jokes about other people we mutually know even friends and just joke about them.

He's atleast semi racist. So I'm mexican and I live in an area with lots of mexicans. He'll often say or you're one of the cool spanish or something like that. Or that Cubans are so well mannered unlike mexicans. One time a chubby mexican guy who was listening to loud gangsta rap was walking by and he's like "I hate this neighbourhood so much the people are trash".

He made fun of me when I turned to him for help. So I went through a hard breakup and we were walking by her house (we all live in the same neighbourhood) and he was like you should serenade her with your guitar in a smug condescending way. He obviously wasn't giving a suggestion just trying to make me feel worse. If I wasn't in a semi depressed state I probably would have punched him.

He goes through bouts of ignoring me and others. Occassionally he will ignore me and others for weeks for no reason then comes back afterwards. Like he'll ignore texts, or facebooks and what not.

He treats this one person like absolute garbage. So I have this other friend that he makes fun of for being creepy. I'll admit she's a little weird but he acts like she's a serial killer. He even blocked her on facebook and twitter.

He's also homophobic and probably sexist.

Yahoo what should I do about him. I don't really want to deal with him anymore but I'd hate to lose a friend. Even the hard breakup ex gf and I are on pretty good terms now.
