Everything will end eventually. Looking at the way fb is going nowadays concerning peoples privacy rights, and how they are a full public company now despite running off adds and credits I think it will be sooner rather than later. After all, people are already moving to twitter even though its just a giant public facebook wallpost. Someone will grow tired of facebook and invent their own social network and if its good, it will give facebook a run for its money.

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong and facebook will rule forever, after all, fledgeling social networks have the problem that few people use it, so its hardly 'social'.
