why is it that when someone says that religion or belief in a Higher Power,they get attacked?

Because unfortunately it's "uncool" to have religious beliefs. Nowadays it's "cool" to be atheist. I don't like to get into these arguments because they're hopeless. No side is ever going to change his/her mind. I most certainly believe in a Higher Power and no amount of scientific theories will change that.

As for what Huckabee said, I agree for the most part. There isn't much of a moral compass left, whether it's based on the Bible or not.
