Bull. It is NOT only nonbelievers who are angered by his statements and think he is completely out of line. When facts do NOT support a claim that someone makes, and more often than not actually CONTRADICT the claim outright, then the claim is wrong. It's that simple. And in this case, his claim has NO basis in facts whatsoever, and Mike Huckabee is nothing more than a theist opportunistically jumping on a tragedy and using it to dishonestly promote his personal religious beliefs. THAT is why people...believers and nonbelievers alike reacted with such anger towards him and his statements.

Theists have NEVER been able to demonstrate that praying or believing in God stops people from doing things like murdering, raping, and stealing, and FORCED prayer has CERTAINLY never been demonstrated to dissuade such behavior. Prayer is not, and NEVER has been a cure-all for social ills, so the entire premise is utterly and demonstrably false.

An unspeakable tragedy like this is NOT something to make light of, the way that religious people like Huckabee do by using and abusing the horrific circumstances for the purpose of pushing their religious beliefs on others. Theists who do that should be deeply, deeply ashamed of themselves. They have NO right to trivialize the suffering of the wounded, grieving, or dying by USING them and using their circumstances to push their religious propaganda on others.
Mike Huckabee is a moron, using an unspeakable tragedy to do exactly that, and we have EVERY RIGHT to call him to task for it, we have EVERY RIGHT to point out how and why his statements are blatantly wrong, and doing so has nothing to do with being filled with hatred and evil. It has EVERYTHING to do with being sick and tired of seeing people like him abusing situations like this to push personal agendas.
