What is the effect of social networking sites to your health(emotional, physical, spiritual)?

i,m 63. i was on facebook for a while. i found the experience to be shallow, and too "chatty". if facebook works for you; fine. since i,m not a cell phone addict; i see the entire process as somewhat self absorbing. real human contact is face to face. the barrier that electronic socialization puts up seems to be depersonalizing. i think it,s a very mixed bag. people walking while engrossed in their cell phone seems like an addiction.the use of this media not going to disappear. my cell phone is used like a person from the 50,s would use a phone. i guess by default, that makes me something of a luddite.
