It depends on how much you are able to sell. It can take awhile to develop your business. You have to be able to devote quite a bit of time to marketing your items through etsy and away from etsy, such as facebook, working on seo, etc... We started in October of 2010 and didn't make our first sell until 3 months later. Even then it was very sporadic. But 2 years later we have a great business. It just takes time.
