I dont know if it is an official thing, but companies do tend to hire home grown talent more often. In many things it is who you know rather than what you know too.
I dont think hiring people that are from Canada rather than elsewhere is a reflection on how friendly we are. It has to do with education standards, professional standards etc. It is providing a job to the people here because we have government departments such as Social Assistance and Employment Insurance which Canadians have paid taxes to support and they dont want citizens here to have to rely on those, or they would collapse. I think it just boils down to looking after one's own first. That can be taken as selfish or practical. Ads |
