Hello
I am a Graphic and Web Designer. I studying Graphic Design at School (GCSE) then Sixth Form, then went to University. Although I did not find University beneficial, you did learn so key elements about design. My main learning curve was actually going out and being in the 'real world'. No one can prepare you for that! I have learnt loads..... and I am still learning. I degree is not necessary in this field. Most people think it will look good on your CV. But I disagree. I am have never been asked what grade I got. Why does it matter if your portfolio is a-mazing? That's the most important thing. Nice clean portfolio. My salary is pretty good, however I am a Freelance Designer, so I work for myself. I have no over-heads as I work from my office at home. Starting out as a junior designer in a company the salary can be quite low, so you have to stick it out and work your way up. But that's like any company. You can't be on millionaire wages with little knowledge. I LOVE design. I literally breathe it. I am constantly designing, I see it more as a hobby. I think if you set yourself goals and work to them you could be great. You have to be prepared to work for it and put the time in. As a freelancer, I would say YES, if you were me..... it all depends what you want. Follow me on twitter @cfreshdesign and find me on facebook "C Fresh Design" I am a Graphic Designer and my website is http://www.cfreshdesign.co.uk Hope this helps ![]() Good Luck! x Ads |
