Why do people think social democracy like they have in Europe is anything close to actual socialism?

The term social democracy came out after all the stigma socialism brought with it.
You can argue for or against socialism, but a rose is still a rose no matter what you call it. One of the basis (at least in application) for socialism is where the greatest institutional burdens are placed on the most productive members. Also for welfare to be properly funded, socialistic policies need to be implemented. |
