Near field communication technology integrated within consumer products will someday enable advertising to be targeted directly to those who have shown a preference for certain brands or products while they are at or near retail locations. You walk by a store wearing Nike shoes and your smartphone or a nearby digital sign advertises the new model or some other Nike product that may interest you.
