It depends on your budget. If it is low, go with an ad in a popular newspaper or magazine, and you can use opportunities at social gatherings to drop hints about your business and hand out cards. If you have a high budget then go all out with full page magazine ads and billboards. When your business gets rolling a good way to promote business is by partially sponsoring a local event. If there are billboards at your local Dierbergs (or any grocery store), ask if you can tack an ad on them, or if you need more business, an internet ad on a popular site always works.
