Republicans: How do you plan to stop the spread of gay marriage?
First, I am not trying to spread my agenda with this question. I am strictly speaking from a political science perspective. Second, your views on gay marriage does not make you a bigot. They just mean that religion plays an important role in your life. Some of my friends will slap me(metaphorically) right across the face if I tell them that I support gay marriage. This allows me to understand your point of view....
Now to my question - Twelve years ago people would have been appalled if you even mentioned gay marriage. Now, nine states allow gay marriage and Iowa, surprisingly, is one of the nine states. Most polls show that the American public is slowly becoming soft on this issue. Soon, more states will allow same sex marriage. A day will come when North Dakota and Mississippi will allow same sex marriage. This might occur decades from now, but I am positive that it will occur. Instead of fighting this issue, perhaps you should focus on other ones. Call it a disease or social justice, gay marriage is becoming ever more common in the states. Ads |
