is it common to put a pic of you and your gf as a cover photo on facebook?

Of my friendlist (I only have about 120-something) I don't think I know any who do that. One or two use themselves with whoever as an avatar image, WAIT on, yes, I can think of one or two now who have used wedding photos (awww *cough* *cough* *look at us!* *splutter* *cough*) and have a "couples" cover image.

I guess it's more "how" you do it than that you do. Personally, the 'lovey-dovey-oh-look-at-us-and-how-in-love-we-are'-stuff is over the top and a little off putting to want to go to that person's page as it looks like they're announcing, "I'm so very happily in love with this person, everyone adore me and how sweet I look, oh gosh aren't I great?"

BUT

if it's something like the two of them dressed before some kind of silly costume party or she smacking him in the head or something, then that's fine (and quite amusing, how it should be, then I respect them).

Personally, I think it is common, but doing the "look at us and how in love we both are"-thing will likely get you unfriended by any who don't want to be constantly reminded, and added by your mother who realizes she can spy on you using facebook to get gross to spread around her cronies.
